10:00am Depart hotel for NSF* - meet in lobby. 11:00am - 6:00pm NSF Extensible Terascale Facility Workshop http://www.cise.nsf.gov/acir/eft_faq_and_agenda.htm The easiest way to travel to NSF is via Washington's subway system. The Sheraton hotel has a free shuttle to the NIH/Medical Center metro stop. The fare is $2.10 to Ballston, but the return trip to Bethesda will be $2.50 (peak fare). Take the Red Line (towards Glenmont). Transfer at Metro Center to the Orange Line (towards Vienna). Exit at the Ballston Station. Walk into the office building, straight back (to the right) and up the escalator. Cross the pedestrian bridge to the NSF building. NOTE: You must then go down to the first floor to sign in at NSF.
NSF is also close to National Airport, if you would like to go directly there after the ETF meeting. (Subway: Orange line back to Rosslyn, change to Blue Line towards Franconia/Springfield, which goes directly to the airport - peak fare, $1.60) Or, a taxi should be no more than $20.
