Directions:
Note: Taxis are usually readily available in the downtown
area. However, if the weather is nice, walking is usually faster, due to the
number of one way streets in that area.
* Directions from Four Points Hotel to the White
House Conference Center:
(Walking)
From the front of the hotel, walk west on K Street to 16th Street (four
blocks).
Cross 16th St. towards the Carlton Hotel and walk down 16th Street to Lafayette
Park (16th street ends there, at H Street). Turn right on H street, then left
into the Lafayette Park area. The conference center is at 726 Jackson
Place NW, which is one of the townhouses that faces the park along the right
side. We will be in the Truman Room.
* Directions from the White
House Conference Center to AAAS:
(walking)
Exit the building and walk towards the White House. Turn left at Pennsylvania
Avenue and walk to 15th Street. At that intersection, if you continue straight
you will be on New York Avenue. Take NY Ave. until you reach 12th Street
(past the IADB and the Museum of Women in the Arts). The entrance is on the
corner.
*Directions from the Four Points (12th
& K) to Bobby Van's (15th
& H):
From the front of the hotel, walk West on K Street. Walk diagonally across
Franklin park, then down 14th Street to H. Turn left on H, and the restaurant
is at the next corner.
*Directions from the Four Points Hotel to the AAAS Building
(Walking)
From the Front of the hotel at 12th & K, walk down 12th Street (Slightly
downhill) to New York Avenue. Cross NY Ave., and the entrance is on the corner.
